Ridiculous ruling on Heinz by ASA
Heinz #CanSong banned by ASA unless Heinz ensures future ads do not “encourage behaviour that could be dangerous for children to emulate, for example by including a clear on-screen safety message such as ‘Play safe: tape the can’.”
Is this the day common sense died? How are our children going to become responsible adults if they’re never allowed to play with jeopardy?
Heinz will win either way. There IS SUCH A THING AS BAD PUBLICITY (ask PanAm, Gerald Ratner etc) but this isn’t bad publicity.
