Personality profile

Hardworking and determined to succeed, Canadian (to explain the accent!), warm, bubbly, creative.

Admires most

Terry Fox (1958-1981). Two and a half years after having his right leg amputated because of cancer, 21 year-old Terry embarked on a 'Marathon of Hope' across Canada to raise money for cancer research. After 143 days running a total of 5,373 km or 3,339 miles across Canada, Terry's cancer had progressed to such an extent that he was forced to stop running. Despite this, he managed to raise more than $24.17 million, enough to reach his target of raising one dollar from every Canadian. Terry’s courage proved that anyone can be a hero.

Extraordinary talent

Willingness to try almost anything once (within reason of course!).

What flicks my switch?

Trying new things, visiting places of extraordinary beauty/significance, dancing (unfortunately it’s usually quite badly!), great stories.

Favourite film

At the moment it's a toss-up between Star Trek, Gran Torino and Avatar.

Favourite track

Far too many to list - it depends on my mood. I like music from every genre (except for death metal).

Favourite invention

The internet - for transforming the world, making information so readily accessible and opening up a realm of possibilities that were largely inaccessible before it.
